This class is for investors who want to understand the investments they own, learn to communicate effectively with advisors, and make sure that their planning is on track. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking skills and creating a financial plan that you works for them.

Classes are 90-minutes and run five weeks. Class time is devoted to lectures and then you are given the time, tools, and space to implement what you just learned. Guest speakers are invited so you can ask questions and get a second opinion. (Individual work is for your eyes only; your net-worth is never shared!)

Module 2: Retirement Topics

With pensions going by the wayside and social security having issues, retirement planning has never been more important. You won’t get a do-over in your later years, so let’s make sure you get it right! In this class we look at many aspects that we face in retirement:

  • Social Security Strategies

This class is for those who would like a more active role in their investment decisions, or for investors who are self-managing. We discuss the current markets, economic headlines, and help you figure what it may mean for you. We work through age-appropriate case studies and help you to develop your own investment criteria. Emphasis is on critical thinking and investment strategies.   In this 5 weeks we:

  • Case Studies for Life-Stage Investing
  • Personal Portfolio Design

This is not a class for beginners. It is a good class to take each year so that you can adjust your planning as the markets fluctuate and your goals may change.
